Medieval Joy on YouTube

In April 2025, the Toolkit hosted a 2-part event, together with Seattle University and the National Nordic Museum, supported by a Centennial Grant from the Medieval Academy of America. On April 5th, students from Union College (Schenectady, NY) and Seattle University shared their independent research on uses of medieval symbolism in modern politics, fashion, and pop culture with an audience of Seattle University students, faculty, alumni, and community members, as well as expert respondents from the nonprofit Costumers of Color. On April 6th, a panel composed of a harpist, mead-maker, historical costumer, and equity consultant shared their medieval inspirations with a public audience at the National Nordic Museum, followed by a lively Q&A.
